The
American Copper Council is a not-for-profit trade association
representing all segments of the copper industry. Incorporated
in 1975, the Council's 120 member companies include producers,
scrap dealers, brass and wire mills, fabricators, consumers, merchants
and brokers.
The major focus of the Council
is on education. To that end, the organization sponsors four meetings
a year which are designed to bring members of the industry together
to discuss issues of common concern. Each meeting provides a forum
for industry leaders to share their knowledge with decision-making
executives from the copper industry.
Quarterly meetings and the biennial
Copper College are held throughout North America and offer registrants
an educational program on a broad range of topics such as hedging,
investment recovery, international trade, credit & finance
and the outlook for the industry. In addition, most meetings feature
an opportunity to tour state-of-the-art copper facilities. Recent
meetings have been held in Miami, Atlanta, Dallas, Montreal, Tucson
and Huntsville, Alabama.
In attendance
at each meeting are approximately 150 senior executives who serve
as CEO's, CFO's, purchasing managers, and marketing executives,
representing all areas of the copper industry.
